My Review On Confestions Of an Ace-Fan by Henry Jenkins

The text that I chose to write about is Confessions of a Aca-Fan by Henry Jenkins. In this review he talks about the highs and lows about twitter, first he questions about is Twitter really the right place to do his work? He questions about the site, how would it expand meaningfully, and would any good cause come out of it. In my opinion I think Twitter is a great way to promote your blog or anything else to that matter also a lot of internet uses use Facebook so in another term creating a page on Facebook would do just as good as a Twitter account. Reading on Henry comments that it is a serious loss to digital culture myself personally I do not agree with that I feel that Twitter is more of an “add on” for the digital age of course there are people out there that don’t agree with social networks, that’s fine. The internets has more features than those type of networks so they are easy to avoid but I must admit they have some low points but that is another story, so would Twitter replace blogs? I highly doubt it these two applications are very different and they both serve two very different causes, Henry believes this would happen, I do think change will happen but only to Twitter, I see that Twitter will become more of a advertising site rather than a status and celebrity following site. But later on in the review he talks about the pros about Twitter he likes the idea of being connected with his followers and with the people he subscribes to, he feels that it is a nice community and he is very happy that his co-worker created his account for him. He points out that the site is a good place to get your answers answered quick no matter what it is, but I think he is talking about computer based problems I assume that plenty of computer technicians use Twitter, he goes on talking about his project “Here it is” he says that it represents Twitter as a means of sharing links and pointers to other places on the web. I myself have no idea what he would achieve out of this project but it would be interesting on what would happen in the end. I have noticed a few strong points in his text, and I have to agree with him on this one I myself have a blog and not many people view it so like I have mentioned  

 above that I think that Twitter is very useful to advertise a blog because the application reaches out to so many people around the word. But on the other hand it is not a substitute for blogs, I see that as a very strong point in the text. Just to finish off I would like to explain what points in this text that could help me with my studies, Twitter can be useful if I need to ask questions about a certain subject or find a target audience, I think it would be a good place to do something like that.

Week 3

a bit of a late update i have been busy this weekend, friday i had a meet up with Lou Adam and Brandon, Danny didn't make an effort to come, i even told him the next train to come down on, but he just went home, i planed this day for him, i should of learned by now he never turns up to birthdays or any other get togethers, i feel like he doesn't put any effort into meeting us, all he wants to do is play games and hang around with his boyfriend, i even got him a gift and card, i don't think he deserves it, so i am sending it to a friend who has been helping me a lot recently, at this moment of time i am waiting for them to PM me their address. i'll just plop Danny's address on the card, that is just one way i can get it to him at the moment.

Saturday, this was a lazy day, really it was, i woke up with a sleep hangover and i couldn't do much about it, if i went to bed early it would mess up my sleep pattern, i was going to start my review for next friday but my brain was pretty much dead

as for the rest of the week the train didn't bother coming on monday, so i couldn't make it, so i did most of my work at home, i got a lot done though, my proposal is down and ready, i hope thats what she wanted, tuesday i was in another new group for radio and i hope it is the final group i mean i hate changing groups, i need to settle down and i hardly have yet, well in my little group for the sound bit there is a guy called Peter and Sasha from my Doc course, and as for the rest of the week it went by very quick again, i got more Hummus :D i love the stuff :D 

Where are the weeks going?

i honestly wonder where the time is going, i honestly swear it was monday yesterday O.o and watching that weird documentary, it was about some woman that was "sleeping around" and trying to get famous, there where parts of a middle aged man i didn't want to see >.< ewww. But enough of that, i don't want to talk about that, its just blah. So during the week my timetable has been changed and messed about with which was a pain, i was getting settled in, when i moved into a new group there was more work to do well Media and Rep, i need to write a review on something before next week, i am stupidly puzzled :/ you'd think they'd start slowly or something for the first few weeks don't you? This is my timetable for the next week

i also got two hoodies from the Uni shop this week, i only wore the purple one the blue one is still in its packaging i might get more, they do cost £25

what do you think? its very snuggie ^^ and also i am a little confused about this, its not hard to find a glitch in sims is it?

Another Week Gone By!

i knew the hours where kinda long but i didn't know a week would go by that quick, so since Friday is the first day of my weekend now i thought i should post something, i shall do what i did last week and write a paragraph on what happened ect

Monday

today was really my first academic day at the university, mondays from now on well till week 15 or something are going to be long days (10am till 7pm) i have to wait for the late train to get home, kinda sucks really cause i am going to be very tired at the end of it, but speaking of tired i have my timetable finally! after so many group and room changes, i honestly think why couldn't they do that over the summer instead of confusing everyone :/ but today i left at 6pm to catch my train, my tutor said in a email that she preferred if i stayed till the end...well at least the rest of the week finishes a lot more early. i guess you have to take a few risks, heh i should be thankful at least i don't finish at 10pm >.>

Tuesday

today was a bit messed up, first my first lesson no one was there, apparently there was a room change or something, i was too ill to care, so i applied for a absent's i didn't feel like me, i felt my tummy was turning and so bleh, i hope i haven't missed too much in my photography lesson we are only meant to take pictures of things that look like letters of the alphabet. i just need a sign out a digital camera to do this, there is so much equipment at the media loans store, i was like wow O.O

Wednesday


not much to say about today i mean the train didn't turn up, seriously i was waiting for like 20 mins for the damn thing to turn up, good thing i got a refund well i got my ticket transferred for the next day. i told my tutor that i was stuck at my home station i couldn't make it, she said it was fine!

Thursday


last day of the week i was in for 12:30 and somehow i managed to get into the wrong class stupid timetable messing me around >.> i was in the 2nd year radio class :( the tutor that was teaching the lesson thought i looked a bit blank, she found out where i was meant to be and i recognised my radio tutors :D there i met two chaps one Ash and another Alex, they where both very nice and two other girls which i didn't catch their names, we did a bit of recording and then the recorder kinda messed up and lost most of what we did but it wasn't a major lesson we was having a bit of a play around ^-^ also today i got my Media Passport this lets me keep on track on what i have taken out, they said it is only for this year.

and in other news i found this awesome Israeli singer, he is awesome :D i still can't believe he was in my youtube recommendations this is a first finally a rec from youtube that is awesome!

My First Few Days

Tuesday


i was really dreading today, just by the fact that i was going to be out and about from 9am to 9pm stupidly long, but what we was doing wasn't really all that important, it was something for the whole of the Media school could laugh at, i was hanging around (more like with) a few other kids, two girls (i forgot one of their names) but the blonde gal was called Lucy, and there was this chap called Sasha, he looked like my friend Andy, he just pulls the same expressions, well i did feel socially awkward i didn't know what to say to them i just felt like a lost sheep, we all came to an agreement that the project that we where doing wasn't important so we scraped it, so the three of them went back to their student flats, i didn't know what to do, it was 13:20, i was all on my own and feeling awkward, only on that day i brought a single ticket (cause i was going to finish late) so i rang my dad to say that i finished earlier than expected, due to the traffic in Lincoln he made it to me within an hour and a bit, so i bet your wondering what i was doing during that time, well i just went up town, had a look around the market ect, had a bit of a sit down and a drink, Dad turned up another 10 minutes late (its a city you kinda expect it due to the traffic) So Dad said to me we might as well go shopping now for food. when i got back home i was a bit tired and i managed to catch Omri before he went to bed :P he was waiting to hear what happened, i told him that i felt awkward around people ect, he just said i'll snap out of it soon, just cause it's early days :3 and so this was my ticket ^-^ no one can use it now cause it is out of date :P

Wednesday


today was one of the shortest days of the week, it was a two hour introduction to the staff at the media school, they are very nice ^^ and funny lol! (i had to go pee half way through i stepped on a lot of people's feet :s) but no one seemed to care! :P i got a free memory stick, pretty crap since it's only 1GB, the memory stick that the college gave me was 2GB's you would of though something from Uni would be a bit bigger, but oh well i have got another stick that i used for my college work and it is 4GB i think i have plenty of room left for more work ^^ and this is the memory stick i got, it says "University Of Lincoln, School Of Media"

Friday


today was just an introduction to the course, there was (including me) 5 other kids in my class the closest person that lives near me is a chap from Nottingham and that is a bit more further than Newark to Lincoln is, i wonder what time he wakes up O.o, and also there is someone from Ireland, he seems like a nice fluffy person to chat too ^-^ and also there are two other girls one from Barnsley and the other from Birmingham and that Sasha fella was there too, i thought that we was going to finish at 4pm but we was only there for 2 hours.

and so i start at 10  on monday and finish at half 6, she said it is going to be a busy day, and i should check my timetable often to see if anything is updated.

But for now! ta ta!  

My Enrolment Day

it was nerve racking, my god i felt so shy and awkward around so many people >.< i hope to make friends in the coming week, and speaking of friends i found Omri's double O.O i couldn't help but stare at this chap he really looked like Omri but with a thicker beard, i wonder what course he is doing it would be nice to talk to Omri's double :P, my enrolment took ages i had to wait in line :/ well at least i got it down that's the main thing though, i am looking forward to taking the train in the morning there is only one stop and that is to Lincoln so that is helpful ^^ dad will be picking me up tomorrow though cause i finish at 9pm and the trains are closed at that time, i guess i am going to sleep well tomorrow night then ^^

and in other news, tuesday 20th of september is going to be a long day for me at Uni i start at 9am in the morning and leave at 9pm at night i have a screening i have to go to between 7pm and 9pm pretty stupid time though but at least the following day i start at 11am so that does make sense, then for the rest of the week it is short days, and thursday i have a day off ^-^

and just to point out the trouble that "Ron" caused doesn't make me see Israel differently, it is still a wonderful country! and hebrew is a fantastic language! but i still want to egg that little shite's house though! ¬-¬

i have been urber busy with Uni starting, my enrolment day is on the 19th of this month and i can't wait, but i feel like ranting at the minute and you know getting the pain out in the open is good for you, people can help you and cheer you up, so here it goes...i wont name any names or name >.> but i am really pissed off by this person's actions towards me and i thought they where a friend, they gave me advice, they never properly spoke to me until the other day, i was just sharing a nice idea but simmer upatee pants came on my thread and gave me a good telling off for no bloody reason!! yes they were a older simmer (by a copal of years so to speak) they thought what i posted was immature heck was it! i was just indicating with colours how the feck is that childish and immature? pardon my language but when i am really pissed off i swear like there is no tomorrow but that simmers attitude was fucked up, i needed a good telling off? what about them eh? only cause i am a kid i know nothing is that right? what about you? hmm? you simmer are no way near mature thank you very much, i have seen your posts, oh oh oh, they are very childish, so don't go calling me immature and all that business, but yes THEY didn't call me immature just my post but still it felt like they where calling stupid and a waste of space and i don't take too kindly to that tone, when i am pissed off i tend to repeat myself but still how can people like that roam around forums like that, i felt ever so slagged off, that simmer has just lost a friend, never again am i coming to you for any damn advice, i have REAL ADULT FRIENDS who can help me with life problems, and as you can tell when i am pissed off grammar goes out of the window *takes deep breath* having a good rant really clears out the system, i couldn't hold the anger in any longer, i sent a message to this simmer a few days ago showing how i felt about what they said to me, that is the adult thing to do right? well simmer upatee pants hasn't replied to my message, and it was all in adult language so THEY COULD UNDERSTAND! i am still waiting, so who is the adult now eh? simmer upatee pants every time i see your name i am just gonna turn my nose up to you and say your life has got nothing to do with me, no point talking to you if you keep being like that. i used to like you, i thought you where a friend, but i am so bloody wrong aren't i?  so i hope i learn my lesson next time eh? and keep an eye on who i am friends with... and one last curse word just to make me feel better FUCKITY FUCK COW BITCH >.> *deep breath* that's better i had to let off some steam and my blog is one place i can do it, and damn i feel a lot bloody better! i couldn't hold in the pressure any longer!

i was just on simpletons a min ago to hear someone created Miley Cyrus, haha seriously? the person who created her is the same age as me roughly, she is a role model for little kids for goodness sake! my goodness what has the world come to? she is a terrible singer, she literately makes my ears bleed, well not bleed but they ache, this simmer was asking opinions on her, most of the simmers said that she didn't look like Miley, he nose is wrong, something like that, here are a few examples i picked up

Diploma

and so i have just received my diploma through the post this morning, and to find that i have earned  a triple merit grade, merit merit merit or in other words MMM, or a B, i must admit it is a pretty good grade, but i just feel like i could do better you know i even did extra work to try and reach to a DMM, but sadly what i did, it didn't make the cut, and so i sent an email to the project managers earlier today still no reply from them yet, i just hope it's good news or something you know i really want to get into uni D:

a short one today, on Simpletons i am egar to see what Lisa is going to do with all the simselfs! i wonder if mine causes a bit of trouble! i think it would be something like Hippie's thread or something, well i hope i don't pee on anyone's shoes! ha oh i found that quite funny, i must preform! screw with all the peeing that can wait! or can it? O.o no it can't it seems, i wonder if anyone gets pregnant? i hope she has enough room cause babies are cute :3

in other news my trip to the cinema is on pause cause the cinema's website hasn't updated yet, i hope it has some earlier times 8pm was the earliest, and well i don't feel safe walking home at that time due to the fact of the riots, there are some wired people in this town, and some are real funny looking, darn chavs >.>

also i am excited that there is going to be a happy feet two! :D i am so gonna watch that! pretty obvious isn't it? ;) so for this occasion i think i found my "heart song" ;) i think it is a beautiful song, i ♥ blue :D

Holy Sock Puppet In A Sausage Factory! O:

i am in quite a happy mood today! well lets start off with the Sim business cause most of the people that read this love sims ;) so yes i was minding my own business on simpltons, Omri randomly posted a link to sims vip it was about Hidden Springs, i must admit it is a very nice town, i hope it doesn't cost too much i hate it when you have to pay for towns, how come riverview was free? urgh its just money making with them, but anyway i was just watching it and the lady came across a household called Swete! lol you have no idea how happy that made me! if you know me well or in person then you'll understand! but i guess you'd know which household i shall be playing first! apparently its a grumpy old man...hmm, must be my dad. ha! on other sim news i have been lurking the forum (as i always do) and i came across a thread, all i am saying it's about Liam, and my my there was a bit of firting in there i have no idea if those two simmers where playing around or something but i am a nosey buggar lol, also there was a bit of competitions between two members, i had no idea what was going off but it was fun to read lol. also on another topic i saw a thread where a simmer just found out that sims can be gay/lesbian...seriously? i am sorry but that is easy to find out, quite a few of my simself's children have been gay/lesbian it doesn't bother me, if they are happy i am happy ^-^

and in other news my plans to go with Adam to the cinema have been pushed forward a bit due to the fact that since the film is coming out next wednesday the whole screening would be packed and it would be very highly that the tickets would be sold out, so we are not going next monday but the monday afterwards, i am getting popcorn! :D!! and also i think i am ready for another walk outside, during the summer i get really board. i think the riots are kinda dieing down i have not heard much on the news today, well the sooner the better i mean get rid of them youths the cleaner the country is you know, if a country can not handle youths that act like that then what kind of country are we? sad really.

and so i may not be getting a railcard, i mean it is only £5 or something to go to Lincoln and back it isn't much and if worst comes to worst i'd still have my phone on me, and i think it is best if i kept my card with me (credit card) just in case i need to take a quick bit of money out maybe for lunch or if i am sort on for a ride home, again only 20mins by the train not bad, the only one that fits well, well from what i can think of is, lets say if Uni starts at 9am, i need to get there on time, i found the perfect time, the train leaves north gate (near my house) at 07:40 and gets to the city centre at 08:12 plenty of time to walk slow and go pee :P but enough peeing for the moment, apparently i may be getting my diploma soon, i just hope its the DDM, i really need that grade to get into Documentary.

and the last bit before i finish off, i just got a word from my dad about our nosey next door neighbour and well he is being evicted out in the next two weeks! this is great news, no more complaining from dad! :D and well the noise didn't really bother me though, i sleep like the dead lol

New Blog! :D

hello folks! Rachy here now i have been thinking of making a second blog for sometime though, something on the side from my Ace Foxtura story, which by the way i promise that i will write chapter four as soon as i can! i have been busy playing other games and trying to sort out my body clock, and...learning hebrew has also taken up my time too, i just need to pronounce a few words better and learn WH words i have been given, they include why, what, where, when, how, ect. also i thought it might help if i watched some Israeli telly, well i know how to connect a TV now! *heehee* after watching that i know how to say lehitrao'ot better (which means goodbye). Such a pretty language though and it is always good to learn something new! and i have an awesome teacher! for every toffee apple i'd give him for helping me he'd be swimming in them, literately (lol)

and the last chunk of nugget for this update, i guess that most of you have heard of the riots down here, and i can tell you i am so ashamed by it, this isn't England! not the England that i know, the country should stand proud! i hope the government gets their act together and kick these thugs out of this country! they are an embarrassment to the United Kingdom, they are an embarrassment to Europe! i am just happy that its no where near i live, i can only hope that.
